Strategic Partnership Officer Tracking Code: req1872 Faculty/Department: Co-op, Experiential Learning, and Career Development Office Number of Positions: 1 Appointment Type: Limited Term 12 months Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Salary Range: Level 10- Starting Salary, Step 1$100,642 Posting Date: January 5, 2026 Closing Date: January 9, 2026(7:00 pm EST) Job Summary The Strategic Partnerships Officer will plan, organize, and implement strategies to secure new corporate partners, increase the level of engagement and maximize the support of the university’s top strategic corporate prospects and partners, with an eye to the entire university’s offerings. This position will develop and foster proactive, long‑term relationships with high profile organizations. This position provides strategic insight and coordination into targeted, institutional stakeholder initiatives. It will also foster a culture of collaboration and partnership internally within the university to deliver on this external value proposition. Nature of work The Strategic Partnerships Officer reports to the Manager, Career Services and Experiential Learning within the Office of Co-operative Education, Experiential Learning and Career Development Responsibilities/accountabilities Strategic University Partner Management Develops and coordinates corporate strategies for new and existing corporate partners with a special emphasis on developing high‑value engagements from across the university Facilitates coordination of internal Ontario Tech teams to increase engagement of corporate partners across academic, research and fundraising priorities that support the university’s strategic priorities and goals Cultivates and stewards corporate partners’ interactions Facilitates “front door” service of industry and community partners into the university Supports the launch and implementation of the Student Enrichment Program that facilitates student‑industry interactions Researches and qualifies high profile prospects appropriately aligns with institutional programs and initiatives Attends relevant events to grow networks and connections within identified corporate partners to capitalize on mutual opportunities Monitors and tracks corporate activities to anticipate challenges and opportunities with Strategic partners Keeps abreast of internal university service offerings and programs to provide customized solutions to partners Strategist Serves as liaison and strategist for corporate relations and partnership development opportunities as identified through Partnership Office Develops pan‑university resources that facilitates partnership development for faculty and staff Serves as a liaison and a strategist for corporate relations and partnership development opportunities as identified Interprets corporate interests and identifies trends for university constituencies Serves as a resource for the development of sector strategies External Promotion Oversees Partners and Student Enrichment Program web pages to ensure currency and relevance to external audience. Creates and delivers content e.g., key messages and presentations to internal and external stakeholders that promote Ontario Tech priorities to external stakeholders Develops communications and marketing material (web, social media, web stories, banners, etc.) Works closely with economic development departments within the region and province to promote university and its key messages. Develops tracking and monitoring mechanisms to measure partnership engagement, corporate trends, and corporate engagement with Ontario Tech Engages in community relations activities, including boards of trade, chambers of commerce, etc. Administration Provides written briefings for senior university administrators and supports their corporate outreach activities Drafts reports to internal and external partners highlighting key metrics and deliverables Reports and tracks all activities and outcomes in an internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems Supports the development and implementation of Partnership Office policies and processes related to CRM data management Represents Partnership Office on institutional initiatives Required Skills Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to convey complex information in a variety of formats A highly organized and strong communicator that is able to work collaboratively within a team, but also able to work independently and with minimal direction A natural connector with a business development mindset to identify mutually beneficial opportunities for both the industry/community partner and the university Aptitude for working in a diverse environment; ability to interact with a wide variety of constituencies successfully Dependable, resourceful, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate individuals Strong political acumen with the ability to promote positive stakeholder relations Creative ability to solve problems, oversee challenges and provide recommendations for service offering improvements Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple priorities and coordinate efforts among several groups of people Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends, as well as travel to locations within Durham Region, Northumberland County and in the GTA Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office software application Required Education A minimum four-year degree in communications, business, marketing or related disciplines or equivalent education An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. * Verification of Academic credentials may be required Required Experience Minimum of five years of stakeholder and business development experience, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client/partner relationships How to Apply Interested candidates should submit in electronic format a covering letter and their resume.
