Join to apply for the Charge Nurse - OPSS South Sector role at NHS Scotland. Overview Band 6 Charge Nurse – Stroke Rehabilitation (Ward 56). Shift pattern: Monday to Sunday rotational 12‑hour shifts. The ward is busy and dynamic, focused on providing person‑centred care to patients rehabilitating after a stroke. Responsibilities Report to the Senior Charge Nurse for clinical guidance and professional management. Deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse as required. Lead the team, promoting and providing high‑quality care on a daily basis. Ensure appropriate learning opportunities for all staff. Encourage best practice and deliver patient care in line with the CAS standards framework. Demonstrate excellent leadership, confident communication and effective organisational skills. Contribute to education and audit activities. Support the team with a good understanding of policy, procedures and national targets. Qualifications Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Significant post‑registration experience, including managerial and clinical experience. Substantial experience at band 5 level within a relevant setting. High level of IT skills. Good understanding and knowledge of policy, procedures and national targets. Additional Information As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part‑time hours will be pro‑rata but with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
