Day to Day Oversee corporate accounting functions and coordinate related activities Support the Corporate Controller in hiring, training, coaching, and developing finance staff Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the finance team Effectively utilize team resources to achieve departmental goals Implement and coach performance management systems for finance staff Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate financial data and accrual setup Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting Prepare general ledger account reconciliations Review and approve cash disbursements Lead the finance team through month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial statements and reports Monitor inventory reporting and month‑end evaluations Ensure accurate setup and reporting of bank reconciliations, balance‑sheet accounts, and accruals Participate in cross‑functional initiatives to align with organisational and sales goals Assist the Corporate Controller with year‑end audit planning and execution Oversee implementation and development of financial systems and reporting tools Required Qualifications A post‑secondary education in business or accounting CPA (CGA, CMA, CA) – a definite asset 2–3 years’ experience in industry corporate accounting in a senior role Ability to coach and mentor junior team members Strong organisational, decision‑making, analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems – advanced skills using MS Excel and the rest of the MS Office Suite Experience with Microsoft D365 Business Central considered an asset Great interpersonal and communication skills Work and Grow with a Family‑Owned Company We have been a Canadian, family‑owned and managed agri‑business for over 110 years.
