About The Role The Photography Summer Student plays a vital role in documenting and preserving the Museum’s artifact collection. Under the direction of the Curator/Supervisor, Lambton Heritage Museum, the student assists the Collections Coordinator, Lambton Heritage Museum to develop collections documentation records by photographing and/or scanning artifacts from the collection then editing and enhancing the images in post-production. Artifact Photography Job Duties and Responsibilities Produce high-quality photographs and/or scans of artifacts from multiple angles. Adhere to established standards for museum photography/scans of artifacts. Track which artifacts have been photographed. Photography Post-production Use image manipulation software to make required adjustments to the photographs, following established standards. Save completed files according to museum naming conventions. Social Media Create a series of social media posts based on items from the collection. General Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed. Must be a returning student in upcoming school year. Experience Photography knowledge and/or experience. Use of Adobe Photoshop or other image manipulation software. Work with electronic databases would be an asset.
