About The Role The Photography Summer Student plays a vital role in documenting and preserving the Museum’s artifact collection. Under the direction of the Curator/Supervisor, Lambton Heritage Museum, the student assists the Collections Coordinator, Lambton Heritage Museum to develop collections documentation records by photographing and/or scanning artifacts from the collection then editing and enhancing the images in post-production. Artifact Photography Job Duties and Responsibilities Produce high-quality photographs and/or scans of artifacts from multiple angles. Adhere to established standards for museum photography/scans of artifacts. Track which artifacts have been photographed. Photography Post-production Use image manipulation software to make required adjustments to the photographs, following established standards. Save completed files according to museum naming conventions. Social Media Create a series of social media posts based on items from the collection. General Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed. Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis. Must be a returning student in upcoming school year. Experience Photography knowledge and/or experience. Use of Adobe Photoshop or other image manipulation software. Work with electronic databases would be an asset.
