POSITION DESCRIPTION

Description

Working under the general supervision of the Executive Director and as part of the leadership team, the Director of Innovation is responsible for studying and assessing potential new initiatives and ensuring that these are consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. The incumbent uses a people-centered approach that enables the organization to design a data-driven primary care model and to place itself at the forefront of innovative service delivery to ensure the long-term sustainability of these services.

The position is focused on the implementation of new initiatives involving care, services, continuous process improvement, the operational plan and reporting of indicators arising from this plan and those introduced by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the strategic plan through an operational plan.
  • Supervise the Project Manager and an administrative assistant.
  • Keep abreast of provincial approaches, the Provincial Clinical and Preventive Services Plan and established standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of relevant components of operating budgets when approved by the Executive Director.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community networks in partnership with Centre de santé.
  • Encourage and foster a climate of collaboration in line with the mission, vision and values of Centre de santé.
  • Model compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, standards and external legislative, regulatory, accreditation and applicable professional requirements.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

Required skills and qualifications

Extensive experience in the health field, which combines in-depth knowledge of the development and implementation of operational and strategic plans, services and programs assessment, multidisciplinary clinical practice, systemic barriers facing vulnerable communities, the challenges of the French-speaking community and research on health service delivery.

  • A minimum of seven years of experience in a formal leadership role.
  • Administrative and financial experience considered an asset.
  • Advanced post-secondary education in health management, business or other relevant field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.
  • Postgraduate university degree in the field of health service delivery considered an asset.
  • Leadership and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach a team and the Project Manager.
  • Comfortable with Excel.
  • Ability to plan and organize a heavy workload and be flexible to manage a number of projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Fluent written and oral communication, in French and English.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and experience in developing and managing budgets.
  • Ability to think innovatively and proactively in order to meet the needs of clients and the population served by Centre de santé.
  • Meet the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses on the Extended Practice Register considered an asset.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Adult Abuse Registry check and Child Abuse Registry check.
