Employment Opportunity Financial Analyst Operations Based in Winnipeg, MB The KIM team invites applicants to apply for the following exciting opportunity Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM) was established to work towards a new health system that will better respond to the needs of northern First Nations people in Manitoba. KIM supports health and wellness services for 23 Sovereign First Nation communities in northern Manitoba with a focus on equitable care, addressing racism in the health care system, responsiveness to emerging needs, and filling gaps in the health care system. This is accomplished through advocacy, collaboration, and integration with the First Nation communities, and federal/provincial partners. The Financial Analyst for KIM Clinical Services will be responsible for attending to the needs of all programs and services offered by KIM. These include but are not limited to: Visiting Professional Services, Clinical Services, Harm Reduction, Youth and Child Wellness, and Health Transformation and Transfer. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Leadership team through a range of financial functions. This individual will work collaboratively with the Financial Assistant, Clinical Services Program Coordinators, Director of Operations, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing, Allied Health, and Quality Executive, and others to organize, process, document, deliver, and advise on financial matters. The role also entails the development of budgets, collection and analysis of statistical data, creation of financial proposals, assist with reporting requirements, and providing general financial support as needed for the success of KIM’s broader organizational objectives. The Financial Analyst will be a key resource for KIM, working closely with the leadership team to ensure the programs and services operate efficiently and aligns with KIM's financial and strategic goals. The ability to speak one of the northern First Nations languages is desirable. Candidates with roots to a northern First Nation community will be given preference. Responsibilities Develop and maintain financial reports and tracking mechanisms for KIM. Analyze and monitor the financial performance of KIM, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Provide timely and accurate financial reports and updates to Senior Leadership as needed. Conduct regular variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) and prepare summary explanations for management review. Develop and track program-level financial performance indicators (e.g., cost per visit, cost per service delivery activity). Assist in the preparation, review, and monitoring of annual budgets for KIM. Monitor budget adherence, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare cash flow forecasts and assist with multi-year financial projections to support program sustainability. Model financial scenarios related to service expansion, funding changes, or emerging community needs. Track and monitor restricted, contribution-based, and flow-through funding across programs. Ensure expenditures comply with funding agreements, contribution letters, and memoranda of understanding. Collect, track, and analyze financial and operational statistics related to KIM programs. Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and operational improvements within the KIM. Assist in preparing financial proposals, including forecasting and cost estimation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis or a related financial role, preferably in healthcare or public sector environments. Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and data analysis. Experience with financial proposal development and forecasting. Experience working with funding agreements, contribution agreements, or service contracts. Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Proven commitment to anti-racism and the fundamentals of First Nations Sovereignty. Data entry experience with Netsuite, Payworks is considered an asset. CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
