In this role you will work with a dynamic group of professionals across a broad range of disciplines and play a key role in the delivery of professional engineering services for a variety of exciting geotechnical projects throughout the province.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate on a wide variety of geotechnical projects including field investigations; laboratory testing and interpretation; geotechnical analysis; and construction inspection.Work on large complex or multidisciplinary projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget.Coordinate and execute geotechnical field programs for infrastructure buildings land development and slope stability projects. Will involve drilling geotechnical boreholes and logging of soils and rock.Analyze field data and prepare detailed engineering reports and recommendations required for the assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations retaining structures and earth structures.Coordinate and execute geotechnical field inspection of construction works and foundation installations including testing of geotechnical materials.Ensure effective task management including accountability for time budget and technical requirements of assigned projects.Maintain positive client sub-consultant and co-worker relationships.Act as a safety leader and champion for Cliftons health and safety program.Ensure adherence to Cliftons Quality Management System (QMS) in project delivery including contracts management.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications and ExperienceBachelors degree in Civil Geotechnical Geological or Mining Engineering. Preference given to candidates who have obtained a Graduate Degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGS.One to five (1-5) years of relevant geotechnical or geological experience working in the consulting or mining industry.Experience using geological modelling and geotechnical software (Slope W Rocscience FLAC etc.) an asset.Strong organizational skills including effective management of multiple and conflicting priorities with the ability to meet deadlines in the context of work / life balance.Excellent verbal and written communication time and team management skills.Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.Ability to travel to various locations (including remote locations) to complete field work as required.Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and be comfortable driving mid- to full-size trucks in urban rural and construction environments.Continued attention to safety and safe work environments with a strong workplace safety orientation.The Clifton DifferenceWe believe that our employees are the cornerstone of our success and the heartbeat of our operations.
