Come find out for yourself what it's like to be a part of our journey.We offer attractive pay, flexible work options, a great corporate culture, comprehensive and employee-focused benefits including virtual healthcare and a wellness platform as well as great savings programs, and a clear vision for the future.#WeAreWSPWhat you can expect to do with us:Lead the geotechnical design and analysis of dam structures, including earth fill, rockfill, concrete gravity, and arch dams.Oversee the construction and maintenance of dams, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Plan and oversee site geotechnical investigations and assessments to determine the feasibility and safety of dam projects.Participate in the design of plans, specifications, reports and other technical documents for river engineering, dams and hydroelectric projects;Review and supervise development of geotechnical, and structural design calculations, modeling studies, engineering drawings, reports, project standards and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, and permit applications for projects involving hydraulic structures.Coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities and utilities.Work on proposals and participate in our business development effortsManage projects from planning to delivery, including project controls and technical coordinationSupervise engineering resources, including technicians and other engineers.Liaise with technical teams to coordinate engineering workEnsure quality assurance of deliverables.Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential dam failures or issues.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to promote WSP’s profile.We would like to know more about you if you have:Master's degree or PhD in civil engineering with a geotechnical background, or equivalent education.Engineer member of a Canadian professional order.Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience.Strong business acumen and process improvement skills.Commitment to client service.Motivational leadership and mentoring skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, with good logistics skills.Collaborative and consensus-driven.Excellent communication skills in English.Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.Specialized dam engineering expertise in geotechnical or structural engineering.Experience with hydraulic structures (dams, weirs, etc.).Proactive, resourceful, autonomous, and attentive to detail.Teamwork ability.Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.About UsWSP is a leading professional services firm committed to future-proofing cities and environments.
