Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Neegan Burnside Ltd. team based out of our Winnipeg Office to service the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Region.We are seeking a leadership-oriented professional with an interest in the development of people to grow our water/wastewater engineering team and expand our existing client base. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for working directly with our team of engineers and designers, meet directly with clients and other stakeholders, and drive the successful completion of projects.The successful candidate will join an experienced team of professionals with the planning, study, design, approval and construction of projects such as municipal water supply, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution projects; as well as municipal wastewater collection, pumping treatment and disposal projects.The RoleResponsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:Leading projects and project teams as either a Lead Engineer or a Project Manager dependent upon a project requirements and complexity.Report to, and work with, the Senior Engineers and Team Managers for project development and execution.Participating in or leading design strategy at the outset of a project.Overseeing teams responsible for the preparation of reports and detailed designs including functional and detailed design of water and wastewater projectsProviding leadership and technical guidance to junior and support staffMentoring and development of EITs and junior engineering professionalsProject and client management responsibility for a variety of land development and municipal engineering type projectsPreparing a wide variety of documents including proposals, workplans, schedules, technical memorandums, meeting minutes, technical specifications, and reports utilizing the templates developed both by our team and the corporate standardsIn addition to design, undertaking a variety of assignments including condition assessments and associated asset management planning; environmental assessments/screenings; and studies including planning studies, feasibility studies, treatability studies and servicing studiesCollaborating with and contributing to multi-office design teams to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of clientsAttendance at conferences & seminars including the preparation and presentation of technical papers and projects of interestRepresenting the company in various forums both individually and as part of a team at client and industry events;Other duties as assigned.Professional Knowledge And QualificationsRegistration as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Manitoba (Or a member in good standing in another transferable jurisdiction) with 10+ years minimum of consulting and design experience.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.Strong proposal and technical writing skills.Solid project management experience with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation of budget and time constraints;Strong client management and facilitation skills; and,Demonstrated commitment to Community Involvement, and a desire to actively develop and grow business opportunities.The Following Experience And Skills Are Considered AssetsExperience with vertical (building construction, pumping stations, treatment facilities) and horizontal (pipes) municipal infrastructure design, project management, contract administration and client relationships is an asset but not a requirement.Experience with civil site plans and civil design projects.Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, REVIT and MicroStation.Experience working with Indigenous clients.Why Choose Neegan Burnside Ltd.As a Neegan Burnside Ltd. employee, you will become part of the Burnside team, a family of colleagues across different organizations, that work together to provide value and service to our clients, while extending care to each other.
