Senior Water & Wastewater Process Engineer/Project Manager The Opportunity: We're seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer/Project Manager for our growing Water and Wastewater team based in Winnipeg, MB. Applicants residing outside of Winnipeg will be considered. The successful candidate will act as a design resource and project manager on local and national municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. The Manitoba Water and Wastewater team is a tight-knit group of professionals ranging from 44 years of experience to less than one year. The team provides design and project management services for municipal clients across Canada, including municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations and forcemains, reservoirs, and wastewater collection and water distribution systems. What you’ll bring to WSP Minimum 10 years of technical engineering skills in water/wastewater treatment design; Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental or mechanical engineering; Master’s degree is an asset; Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM); Strong project management and discipline lead skills; Strong inter-personal skills to assist project delivery with complex teams, and with mentoring and training colleagues; Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents; Strong organizational skills in both information and time management; Experience in business development and building client relationships; Experience with project management and project delivery according to quality standards; Proven record of independently leading successful projects; Detailed design, procurement, contract administration, and commissioning experience; and, Valid driver's license. Responsibilities Manage new and existing multi-disciplinary engineering projects and supervise engineering design. Typical projects include sampling programs and data collection, feasibility studies, options evaluations, preliminary design, detailed design, and contract administration and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Prepare proposals and time/task matrices, develop and execute scopes of work, manage project financials and deliverables, and oversee the work of junior and intermediate engineers. Coordinate with other disciplines and external resources such as subcontractors; manage subcontracts, health and safety plans, quality management plans, and other key PM documents. Take on new responsibilities, engage new clients, and bring forward ideas for growing or optimizing the business. Engage with management and leadership at various levels; participate in mentorship and leadership development programs. Typical project tasks may entail advanced design of municipal water and wastewater systems, technico-economic evaluations, equipment procurement and tendering, permitting and regulatory submittals. Manage task execution, guide project personnel, coordinate design tasks across disciplines, manage budgets and schedules, communicate with clients, manage change, and develop health and safety documentation.
