Dietary Aide (Goderich/Hensall/Seaforth)About the job Dietary Aide (Goderich/Hensall/Seaforth)As a valued member of our culinary team you will assist with plating and serving of meals, and will be responsible for cleaning serving areas, as well as equipment, while following established policies, procedures and standards.Follow established policies, procedures, work systems, and cleaning procedures to meet regulatory requirementsEnsure food is prepared and served in accordance with health and food guidelinesUse all dietary equipment with competenceParticipate in meal presentationWork cooperatively with the interdisciplinary teamAssist in planning and organizing food preparation to ensure all meals and snacks are served on time, at an appropriate temperature, texture, and quantityClean, care for, and store equipment properly in designated areas after each useReport any required repair work or deficiencies in the environmentDeliver and serve meals according to resident's assessed needsAssist with dining room clean-upAssist in preparing the food and the environment for all special eventsParticipate on various facility and department committees as requiredUse CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate and ensure follow-upActively participate in ongoing educational opportunitiesPromote wellness as a concept of livingParticipate in the formulation and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures, goals, and objectivesWork cooperatively with volunteers and student placements to enhance the scope of the departmentUse supplies and equipment effectively and efficientlyProvide input on menu planning and changes based on resident preferencesProtect own health and the health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safetyFollow all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety ActCompetent in the safe use of chemicals (WHMIS guidelines)What you bringSuccessful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act is required.Previous dietary experience preferred in an LTC (Long Term Care) Home — 0-1 year(s).Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to read and write English as well as to understand simple verbal and written instructions in EnglishAbility to work safely, following established safety practices and proceduresMust be able to do moderate to heavy lifting #J-18808-Ljbffr
