What You’ll Do Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, the Economic Development Student is responsible for a variety of administrative, research and data collection, promotional, and marketing tasks. The day‑to‑day duties include front line customer service, business engagement and retention efforts, primary and secondary research, supporting office administration, and drafting and reviewing promotional and marketing content for websites, digital media, and brochures. This role may be required to act as an ambassador of the County and work with various communities and partners. Contract Duration: 16 weeks, May to August 2026. What We’re Looking For Education & Experience One year of post‑secondary education related to Journalism, Digital Media, Business Administration, Marketing Communications or Public Relations. Six months of experience in a customer service, economic and community development, marketing or tourism role. Skills & Abilities Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience. Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally. Ability to work individually as well as part of a team. Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Experience working with media software. General understanding of social media marketing. Valid Class G Driver’s License.
