**About the Role**:
The **Tourism**A**mbassador** will provide customer service and participate in marketing and communications, graphic design, some photography, telephone, website and social media work, and perform other duties as assigned. Students will assist all visitors and residents with travel and tourism inquiries.

**Responsibilities**:

- Represent the Town of Saugeen Shores at the Invest Saugeen Shores office and at community events.
- Support local organizations in the planning, coordination, and execution of events.
- Plan, promote, and deliver programs and events in specific area of focus for the Town.
- Create promotional and marketing material using multiple channels including poster/flyer design, social media content and in person discussion.
- Support in developing and executing communications for Southampton’s High Street Revitalisation project.
- Keep a pulse on all events, experiences, and activities in Saugeen Shores to ensure Explore the Shores website and social media is up to date.
- Develop and curate engaging content for the Town’s tourism social media platforms.
- Monitor website for accuracy and update the information provided by tourism stakeholders to capture the highest level of outbound links.
- Keep up to date on social media trends to identify the latest digital platforms.
- Create and publish engaging digital content pieces. Ensure all content is accurate and consistent and publish on online/digital platforms.
- Develop and write stories from our region to share on our social media channels, website, and e-newsletter.

**Education**:

- Enrolled in a diploma or degree at a post-secondary institution. Preferred program areas include (but is not limited to) marketing, communications, media studies, graphic design, and tourism.

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Experience working in the digital space (website development/maintenance; social media channels, video production/editing, analytics).
- Experience in customer service in considered an asset.
- Valid G2 or G Driver's License.
- Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer.
- Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment.
- Students must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Students should be living in Ontario at the time they start work. This role is in-person and does not offer remote work options.
