Team Lead - Site Investigation and Remediation Stantec is hiring a Team Lead for its Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) team. The role reports to the SIR Senior Team Lead and focuses on technical leadership, staff development, and business growth. Location: Alberta, Canada (Alberta or Northwest Territories offices) – Primary Location: Canada | AB. Application Deadline: December 5, 2025. Key Responsibilities Maintain an active role on existing projects (project management, coordination, or technical) achieving a 65% utilization target. Develop proposals and submissions to support SIR and multidisciplinary work. Adhere to client and project deadlines. Review and understand Stantec technical SOPs for SIR work. Collaborate with other SIR TLs to drive initiatives improving team efficiencies. Work with STL, Technical Discipline Leads, and Technical Area Leads to identify and manage SIR areas of technical improvement. Ensure team members receive technical training on SIR tasks and track their training. Leadership Responsibilities Provide guidance and lead up to 10 SIR team members. Actively lead SIR team lead meetings. Liaise with other TLs and project managers to resource the team. Communicate with sector leads, sector representatives, and project managers for resource planning. Monitor and optimize team utilization rates. Provide ongoing performance evaluation and constructive feedback. Establish SIR team goals aligned with the Business Centre’s objectives and communicate them. Support ongoing career development and achievement plans. Complete year-end performance reviews and new year goal-setting meetings. Recommend career progression and billing rate changes. Participate in recruitment and hiring of new staff and transfers. Ensure onboarding activities for new staff are planned and tracked. Champion a safety-first team environment, leading indicator measures and documentation of incidents. Collaborate with safety personnel and leadership for mandatory training. Lead and champion recognition and rewards programs. Capabilities and Credentials Desire and ability to lead diverse groups in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or relevant technologist certificate program. Minimum 5 Years Of Relevant Environmental Experience. Typical office environment with computers, sedentary work; field work may involve exposure to elements, lifting up to 50 lbs.
