This role combines day‑to‑day operational oversight with project‑based work, partnering closely with technology and business stakeholders across multiple lines of defense. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in IT audit, governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory remediation, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. What You’ll Do Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight Lead assessments of audit and regulatory remediation plans impacting information security controls Provide independent challenge and oversight across technology risk initiatives Partner with stakeholders across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Lines of Defense Audit & Regulatory Expertise Apply expert knowledge of IT Audit methodologies, IT Governance Controls, and Standards Support regulatory exams, issue escalation, validation failures, and governance reporting Evaluate remediation effectiveness for audit, regulatory, and ORM findings Process Improvement & Innovation Contribute to the maturity of governance oversight and control practices Identify trends and emerging risk themes; provide insights to senior leadership Lead continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Agile, Lean, AI, ML, Power BI, Python, and related tools Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with technology teams, risk services, auditors, and senior leaders Translate business needs into effective governance and risk solutions Train and mentor team members on risk, compliance, and remediation best practices Required Skills 10+ years experience in IT Risk, Governance, Audit, or GRC within regulated environments Strong expertise in IT Audit, IT Governance Controls, and Risk Frameworks Experience evaluating audit and regulatory remediation efforts Knowledge of governance frameworks such as ITIL, NIST, COBIT AI experience and ability to leverage emerging technologies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities Preferred Skills CRISC certification or equivalent experience CISA certification or equivalent experience CISSP certification or equivalent experience (asset) Six Sigma experience Education University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience Team & Culture Team size: approximately 15 members Collaborative, high‑performing, and governance‑focused environment Performance measured by quality of deliverables and outcomes Benefits Medical Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Retirement Savings Plan Client Description Our client is a top 10 bank in Canada and North America, providing comprehensive financial solutions across retail, commercial, wealth management, and wholesale banking.
