Sous Chef – Village Ice Cream Village Ice Cream is on an exciting journey to find our next Sous Chef. We are looking for a creative, collaborative, and self‑motivated leader who will develop seasonal flavour projects and support our Head Chef. As Sous Chef you will: Develop new recipes that align with Village Ice Cream’s brand standards, including ideation, costing, scaling, procurement, and approval from the Leadership team. Support the Head Chef in providing leadership and direction to the Kitchen Managers to ensure efficient production company‑wide. Document and lead special projects. Collaborate with the Bakery Manager on ingredient procurement that meets pricing, time, and quality expectations. Monitor back‑of‑house expenses and implement cost‑saving opportunities. Maintain up‑to‑date ice cream and inclusion recipe costing. Maintain a clean and organized commissary and work to minimize waste. Follow company policies and food health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and ensure other employees do the same. Provide coverage and support for the Head Chef, Kitchen Managers, and Ice Cream Makers when necessary. You are a great fit if you: Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a culinary, pastry, or product development role. Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a management or leadership position.
