Job Purpose:

The Fleet Manager successfully manages the interface, the tendering process, sales and follow-up for fleet accounts. Supports the new car department team, as necessary.

Core Accountabilities:
  1. Keeps abreast of the manufacturer’s product and program novelties involving the automobile fleet and retail sales.
  2. Keeps in touch with businesses and federal, provincial and municipal agencies and departments, with a view to obtaining automobile fleet contracts, using the tendering process in a proactive manner.
  3. Solicits business accounts for the fleet.
  4. Ensures that all fleet products delivered are of excellent quality.
  5. Delivers courtesy vehicles.
  6. Submits monthly forecasts for deliveries of fleets and automobiles and trucks to the manager of the new car sales department.
  7. Closely, and on routine basis, monitors payments owing to the dealership for fleets delivered and for corporate account cars, as well as amounts owing from rental companies.
  8. Prepares the invoices and follows up on accounts receivable.
  9. Writes the necessary correspondence.
  10. Participates in activities organized by the manufacturer for corporate customers.
  11. Maintains a professional appearance.
  12. Takes part in management meetings, if invited.
  13. Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or University Degree
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Previous management experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of 180, ADP/CDK and/or Reynolds software systems and MS Office Suite
  • Good numeracy skills and sound analyzing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to motivate and guide teams to deliver exceptional quality
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence
  • Clear Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid OMVIC License
