Values Authenticity, Engagement, Trust, Integrity, Collaboration and Leadership Responsibilities Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, taxes, grant, and charitable reports. Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets. Plan, coordinate, and support internal and external audits, reviews, and compliance assessments. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, funding bodies, and regulators by preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and management representations. Evaluate existing financial processes, systems, and internal controls to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and risk reduction. Design and implement new workflows, policies, and procedures that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and transaction processing. Report analysis and findings to management team. Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards (ASNPO, GAAP, or IFRS as required). Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including statements of operations, financial position, and cash flows. Oversee all tax-related obligations, including corporate income tax filings, GST/HST returns, payroll source deductions, and applicable rebates. Prepare and review financial reports required for government funders, grantors, and charitable regulators, ensuring restricted funds are properly tracked, documented, and reported in compliance with funding agreements and CRA requirements. Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities, and ensure financial transparency and accountability. Qualifications Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated responsibility for financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply accounting standards in complex, real-world scenarios. Proficiency with modern accounting systems and financial reporting tools, including QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Office 365, and SharePoint, with the ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy. Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines. Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify risks and trends, and provide practical, actionable recommendations. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest degree of discretion and professionalism. Provide accounting and administrative support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll preparation, and year-end audit activities, under the direction of the Director of Finance and Human Resources. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls. Maintain organized and accurate financial records related to grants, donations, and contractual agreements, ensuring proper tracking and documentation of restricted and unrestricted funds. Ensure timely, accurate, and complete entry of financial transactions into accounting systems in accordance with established procedures and deadlines. Education Diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a CPA designation or are actively pursuing their CPA designation. Compensation Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
