Senior Mine Geologist

McEwen Inc. has four producing mines, located in Nevada, Ontario, Mexico, and Argentina, and also has exposure to through its subsidiary McEwen Copper, owner of the large Los Azules copper deposit in Argentina. Our goal is to further develop into a strong and profitable gold and silver producer, focused on the Americas. In order to do that, we need great talent. McEwen Inc. currently has an opening at our Fox Complex Sites for a : Senior Mine Geologist Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the Senior Mine Geologist is responsible for managing the grade control and resource interpretation for underground operations including the supervision of the geology grade control personnel. They must be a committed team player with a strong knowledge and dedication to safety, geological processes, production methods, and equipment care. The list of duties and responsibilities below is not exclusive or exhaustive, and the employee will be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position. All employees are required to be professional, cooperative, and flexible in line with the requirements of the position. Operational / Technical Execution Coordinate and supervise all mine geological activities within safety and regulatory boundaries. Coordinate the site’s drilling program, data collection, geological models, and associated block model estimations. Direct and manage drilling operations to accurately define location and grade for input into the resource model and mine plan to ensure that budget and schedule targets are achieved. Assist with data collection, geological modelling, and resource estimations. Work cooperatively with other departments according to mine production plans. Perform other non-core duties as requested by Chief Geologist. General Administration and Controls Perform routine reporting and administrative duties as required. Take part in staff meetings as required. Maintain full responsibility for complying with all Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory aspects relating to activities carried out in line with the requirements of this position. Maintain a safe working environment. Use skills, knowledge, and experience in the field to contribute towards continuous improvement. Qualifications and Skills Requirement Legal to work within Canada. Valid driver’s license Strong safety mindset The ability to recognize and respond to hazards.Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills. Ability to interact with a wide variety of departments / roles within all levels of the organization. The ability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative, and energetic environment. Experience working with resource models Familiarity with legal and governmental regulations pertaining to property and mining. Proven supervisory experience in mining industry would be an asset. A Bachelor of Science in Geology / Geoscience / Earth science or related degree / diploma is required. Registered as a P.Geo. in Ontario or the ability to register. Must be physically fit and capable of performing physical labour such as lifting. Underground Common Core accreditation. 6 to 10 years ‘of experience in mining / geology. Proficiency in MSOffice Suite. Proficient with the software and systems related to this role (AutoCAD, Amine, Datamine, Leapfrog, and Deswik).
