Mine Operations - Acting Lead Hand New Gold Inc., an intermediate gold producer in Canada, is seeking an Acting Lead Hand for its Rainy River Mine in Northwestern Ontario. The role is 7/7 12‑hour day/night shifts, reporting to the Senior Mine Operations Supervisor. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily safety meetings and compliance activities. Maintain safety documentation, KPI tracking, incident reporting, and investigations. Monitor production targets, coordinate daily open‑pit and dump operations. Operate mining equipment as directed and support operational improvements. Document shift logs and ensure proper sign‑offs. Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and training to crew members. Communicate effectively between management and crew. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of mining or equivalent industrial experience with leadership history. Knowledge of open‑pit mining practices, equipment, safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maps. Ontario Surface Mining Common Core Modules knowledge or ability to obtain. Strong planning, problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication, and organization skills.
