Senior Employee Relations Advisor, Human ResourcesPermanent, full‑time position.What you will doProvide expertise and advice for employees and leaders regarding highly complex employment issues, including serious performance concerns, breaches of conduct, and allegations of misconduct, and recommend strategies to mitigate adverse impacts on the company’s employment brand.Lead or participate in impartial investigations of serious employment issues, gather facts, provide findings and recommendations to leaders, and help resolve and implement remedies.Monitor changing legal requirements and new legislation, and support the development, implementation and management of employment policies that comply with legislative requirements and promote fair work environments.Offer guidance to HR Business Partners on employment matters that may pose legal risk or result in termination of employment, leveraging internal and external legal partners as needed.Anticipate and identify employee‑relations issues, trends and areas of concern that may pose risk to the company’s HR strategies, and proactively mitigate risk through policy changes.Support and coach people leaders and HR colleagues in understanding employment standards, policies and processes, and provide tools and training.What you will bring5+ years of HR experience with expertise in employment law, conflict management and complex investigations.Post‑secondary degree or diploma in HR Management, Business Administration or related field; HR certification an asset.Demonstrated ability to conduct impartial investigations and produce written findings with recommendations.Extensive knowledge of employment law, including Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.Knowledge of common law.Ability to work effectively with others while prioritizing rapidly shifting priorities.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Track record of providing training and presenting information to large and small groups.Coaching and mentoring experience.Ability to encourage active participation and commitment toward common goals.Understanding of roles, managing expectations, effective information sharing and consensus building.Excellent organizational, planning and multi‑tasking skills.Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset but required only for Quebec.CapabilitiesTrusted AdvisorTechnologically ProficientTalent DeveloperInnovativeExecute for ResultsCritical ThinkerStrategic PartnerLocations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg, Montreal.Base salary range: $75,600 – $125,600 per year.
