We provide services like Immigration law and Criminal Law. Role Description: We are seeking an associate lawyer to join our growing practice. The individual should be very passionate about criminal law and immigration law, should have excellent communication skills and should be highly organized. Prior experience as a lawyer or in a criminal defence / immigration law firm is not compulsory but will be an asset. Qualifications: Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements Proficiency with litigation processes, court procedures, and representation skills Effective communication, client relationship management, and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple cases efficiently Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and willingness to remain updated on legal industry developments Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Responsibilities: Daily court appearances for set dates – virtual or in person Travelling to different Courthouses Travelling to correctional centres to meet in-custody clients Running files independently without supervision Legal research Drafting factums, application and memos Corresponding with Crown Attorneys and court staff Conducting pretrials and trials Corresponding and meeting with clients Any other related tasks that the principal lawyer may assign What are we looking for in an ideal candidate: Must be licensed to practice law as a lawyer in Ontario Passion for criminal law, immigration law, litigation, and going to court Excellent communication and negotiation skills Highly organized and efficient Command of English language is a necessity Legal research skills will be highly valued Fluency in Punjabi or Hindi language will be an asset Must have a vehicle as travel is part of the job $60,000 – $80,000 depending on candidate’s experience and skills Salary will increase over time as your experience and skills grow Experience: 1 – 2 years’ experience preferred Prior experience is an asset but not mandatory Three weeks of paid time off LSO Annual fees will be covered CPD programs will be covered Bonus Pay Notes: If you are a new lawyer and love criminal law and going to court, this is for you.
