In this role, you’ll take full ownership of the procurementlifecycle, ensuring best-in-class cost, quality, and delivery for criticalcomponents and assemblies. As the department lead, you’ll manage a team, championing continuous improvement, fostering aculture of innovation, and learning within the procurement team.Execute the full procurement lifecycle in alignment with project requirements.Lead the procurement of mechanical and electrical assemblies, components, and materials for high-speed automation systems.Drive the onboarding and qualification of new suppliers, including evaluating capabilities.Travel to vendor sites for audits, relationship management, and performance evaluations.Manage contract negotiations, pricing, payment terms, and volume rebates to drive cost savings and value creation.Secure a reliable, agile supply chain with access to both proven and emerging technologies.Monitor market conditions and trends, adjusting procurement strategies proactively to stay ahead of supply chain risks and shifts.Analyze procurement and spend data to identify cost reduction, efficiency, and performance improvement opportunities.Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and finance to streamline procurement workflows and automate systems for increased efficiency.Managea team of procurement professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and a culture of innovation.Post-Secondary degree ordiploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.5+ years of experience inprocurement, preferably in the engineering/automation industry.2+ years of experience inleading procurement, buyers, purchases, and equivalent.Should be familiar withthe buying process, logistics, pricing structures and lead times.Experienced in leveraging ERP systems to streamline procurement operations and ensure data accuracy across supply chain processes.Good written and oralcommunication skills in English to effectively communicate technical andnon-technical requirements.Ability to prioritize andexcellent negotiation skills.Able to read engineeringdrawings.Ability to travel.WeCareforYOU:Wefocusondeveloping,empowering,andenergizingourteamthroughcoaching,treatdaysandteamevents.ModernWorkEnvironment:Experienceasafeanddynamicworkplacethatemphasizesinclusion,learning,andcollaboration.InnovativeCulture:Joinateamthatthrivesoninterdisciplinarycollaborationandapassionforadvancingtheworldthroughtechnology.Mentorship and Growth: Learn directly from leaders who are invested in yoursuccess, providing hands-on guidance, career development opportunities, and thesupport you need to reach your full potential.Pack-Smart Inc. is based in Concord, Ontario.
