Director of Luxury Sales & Entertainment Hyatt Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Director to lead our luxury commercial and bands & entertainment strategy at the Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni. The role is highly visible and involves collaboration with sales, marketing, events, and operations teams. Salary range: $100,000 - $110,000/year Key Responsibilities Luxury Sales Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow revenue across the luxury transient, entertainment, retail, and group segments. Enhance visibility of the property within Hyatt’s global luxury portfolio. Act as a brand ambassador, building relationships with VIP clients, luxury agencies, and key decision makers. Utilize travel data and customer trends to identify new opportunities and adjust market strategies proactively. Bands & Entertainment Manage the bands and entertainment market, collaborating with talent teams to ensure successful on‑property performances. Develop targeted sales strategies to attract and retain band and music‑related accounts. Lead prospecting for new accounts using industry intelligence and networking. Coordinate with Events and Operations on space, technical, and hospitality requirements. Represent the property at music industry events and trade shows to build brand credibility. Oversee on‑site experience for band and entertainment clients, managing rider requirements and special requests. Client Relationship & Partnership Development Build long‑term relationships with premium accounts and travel influencers. Represent the property at high‑end travel trade shows, VIP events, and familiarization trips. Partner with consortia such as Virtuoso, Signature, and Ensemble to drive year‑over‑year performance. Leadership & Collaboration Guide an on‑property sales team and collaborate with sales counterparts across Canada’s luxury properties. Develop account strategies, provide sales training, and lead business development initiatives. Work closely with the Hotel Manager, Director of Sales, Marketing & Events, and Revenue & Operations leaders to align on business priorities and guest experience delivery. 5‑Star Standards & Guest Experience Integration Align luxury sales strategies with 5‑Star service expectations and elevate guest experience through personalized service. Partner with operations to incorporate client feedback into pre‑arrival planning and post‑stay engagement. Reporting & Market Intelligence Monitor luxury segment KPIs, market trends, and sales performance; provide timely reporting and insights to leadership. Analyze competitor positioning and evolving luxury consumer behavior to maintain market leadership. Build and maintain a target list of promoters, venues, labels, production companies, and entertainment travel agencies. Track tour routings and concert calendars to anticipate demand and manage inventory on key dates. Deliver strategic recommendations based on analysis of sales data and market intelligence. Qualifications Minimum 3 years in luxury sales within high‑end hospitality, including experience selling to the bands & entertainment segment. Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and exceed sales goals in ultra‑luxury and entertainment markets. Strong leadership experience with top luxury markets and established relationships across promoters, labels, and production leads. Deep understanding of 5‑Star guest expectations, VIP privacy protocols, and customer‑journey excellence. Expertise in negotiating entertainment blocks, suites, green rooms, press spaces, and managing rider requirements. Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field; MBA or Luxury Sales Certification is a plus.
