OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package upon completion of the probationary period.SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and those staff they work with (e.g., Dental Hygienist, Dentist )Ability to use several computer software programs including Microsoft Office, OHISS, Dentrix etc.Good communication skills, including the ability to listen to clients, using tact and discretion, and ability to creatively teach and present to large and small groups of children, teens, seniors, caregivers, and others about good oral hygieneAbility to plan, organize and manage time effectively as well as ensuring maintenance of required records, files, and suppliesAbility to acquire resources to be used in jobQualificationsEDUCATION:Successful completion of a one-year Dental Assistant Program from an accredited collegeHARP Certification requiredCurrent registration with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association is preferredKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:Minimum one (1) year, current on-the-job experience requiredKnowledge of best practices related to sterilization processes and techniquesExperience with children would be an assetKnowledge of legislation (Ontario Public Health Standards)Good command of the English languageSPECIAL CONDITIONS:Valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to work flexible hours when necessaryCurrent C.P.R. certificate preferredMust comply with the current Ontario Public Health StandardsAbility to speak low-German an assetAdherence with SWPH’s policy and proceduresA criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPID), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate.Immunization Requirements: Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are able to provide proof of immunization, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health’s policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr
