Account Manager White Cap Canada Job Summary Primarily responsible for profitably growing sales in an assigned customer base and achieving assigned sales growth targets. The role involves prospecting for new accounts, increasing core and cross‑sell opportunities within existing customers, and relentlessly driving customer success by delivering a seamless experience using White Cap tools and resources. The position requires operating a company or personal vehicle over 20% of the work week and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is mandatory. Responsibilities Conduct field work by face‑to‑face interactions with potential and existing customers. Increase customer value through cross‑selling. Collaborate with sales and Shared Service support teams to execute sales growth initiatives. Forecast, prospect, and bid for new business across customers, markets, and service opportunities. Develop and sustain relationships with key decision makers and influencers at all organizational levels. Partner with customers, vendors, Credit, and A/R to resolve customer service issues quickly. Maintain comprehensive product knowledge and apply it when servicing customers. Maintain and submit all required sales administration reports and regularly attend company meetings. Nature and Scope Demonstrate skill in data analysis techniques to resolve missing or incomplete information and inconsistencies in complex research/data. Require increasing independence; receive guidance only on unusual or complex problems. Provide general guidance or train junior or professional personnel. Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area; occasional light lifting may be required. Spending most of the time sitting in a comfortable position with regular opportunity to move. Occasional overnight travel (less than 10% of the time). Education and Experience BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent. Generally 2‑5 years of experience in a related field (or MS/MA with 2‑4 years of related experience). Certification required in some areas. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Miller Heiman’s Strategic Selling and Large Account Management Process concepts. Prior experience in telesales and proven phone sales skills.
