We are looking for a Portfolio Director to join our client, a leading e-commerce provider specializing in customized office and workplace furniture solutions for residential and commercial spaces. This role entails leading strategic development and execution to maintain market leadership, while optimizing margins and driving innovation to further penetrate the market. The Portfolio Director drives growth by defining the company's strategic position and managing product portfolios in line with current industry trends.


This is a home-based position with occasional travel to company offices in NY state and Quebec, along with attending industry events. Roughly 20% of time spent traveling.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop a clear understanding of the categories and markets the company operates within, identifying growth trends, subcategories, and competitive landscapes
  • Define strategic direction for assigned categories, including product offerings, pricing strategies, and a comprehensive three-year plan
  • Collaborate closely with sales and key accounts to optimize product portfolios that resonate with top customers
  • Partner with the consumer group to formulate effective marketing and product launch strategies
  • Work closely with Product Lifecycle Management to translate portfolio visions into actionable plans
  • Review and monitor SKU performance and implement necessary adjustments to marketing strategies



Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-10 years of portfolio management experience in consumer goods
  • English/French bilingual proficiency is considered an asset, but not required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decisions
  • Objective and collaborative mindset, capable of working cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies
  • Valid passport for Canada/US travel
