Liaison Engineer

Our exciting client in North Vancouver is looking for a Liaison Engineer, specializing in Structural‑Outfitting projects. The role evaluates and resolves engineering‑related challenges across hull structure, naval architecture, outfitting design, class inspection, and related disciplines. The engineer works closely with various engineering specialists and Operations to keep production schedules, engineering specifications, and construction activities aligned, troubleshooting issues, supporting testing activities, and maintaining project milestones. Responsibilities Provide engineering support with a primary focus on resolving production issues within assigned construction areas. Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Production Control to address issues in a technically sound manner while meeting cost and schedule goals. Develop and/or review design documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements, Classification Society rules, and regulatory standards. Build a comprehensive understanding of shipbuilding standards, material specifications, and bills of material in alignment with client strategies. Support suppliers and subcontractors to help them meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives. Coordinate with distributed design teams and other departments to ensure tasks and design deliverables are completed effectively. Qualifications Engineering degree in Naval Architecture (preferred), Structural/Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; P.Eng. or EIT registration required. Minimum 4 years of post‑secondary experience in manufacturing environments or field engineering in related industries. Maritime, shipyard, or shipboard experience strongly preferred. Experience collaborating within diverse and integrated project teams is an asset. Strong technical knowledge, analytical abilities, and proficiency with engineering analysis tools. Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems. Pay: $37 – $45 per hour (base pay range). Contract: 12‑month term, Shift 2:30 – 11:00 pm, required to work on‑site 5 days per week. #J-18808-Ljbffr
