Summary

The following duties are an integral part of the HR & Safety Coordinator’s job duties but are not necessarily an all-inclusive list. Mack Hils, Inc reserves the right to alter the HR & Safety Coordinator’s job duties and functions from time-to-time.

Essential Functions
  • Employee Call-In’s and related phone calls
  • Employee Call-Off’s as required by Cell Leaders & Supervisors
  • Daily Reports for attendance
  • Processing of new hires & terminations (includes Offer Letters & Drug Screen appts)
  • Incident Reporting & Work Comp (Which could include trips to doctor’s office with employees)
  • Daily calculation of payroll hours to be tracked in a payroll spreadsheet and given to the Manager of Administrative Services on a bi-weekly basis for third party payroll processing.
  • Necessary reporting/information gathering for Operations Managers & Cell Leaders.
  • Responsible for assisting in the implementation of the company benefit program to include Health, Dental, Short-Term disability, Long-Term disability and Life Insurance.
  • Process / Approve all Insurance, Work Comp, etc. Invoices for Accounting
  • Responsible for reporting of statistical data related to hours, wages, length of employment, etc.
  • Responsible for processing Child Support, Med Support and Garnishments
  • Responsible for overseeing the Company Shared Work plan with the State of MO.
  • Responsible for assisting in internal training sessions for new employees, as well as renewable training needs and development training.
  • Responsible for maintaining employee records and employee training in a QMS System.
  • Assist Managers/Cell Leaders with addressing employee personnel issues, as well as attending to employee concerns.
  • Assist in overseeing Performance Evaluation Program.
  • Assist in recruitment and hiring of new employees.
  • Assist in employee disciplinary procedures and terminations.
  • Work with OSHA related issues and assisting management with being compliant with these regulations including safety team assignments.
  • Responsible for maintaining Annual DOT Requirements for Drivers
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining driver license and insurance documentation for all driver’s listed on Company insurance policy.
  • Responsible for Attendance Policy and all record keeping for employee time off requests: i.e., medical leave, sick time, vacation time, etc.
  • Backup Phone Receptionist.
  • Adhere to and enforce the procedures of the ISO-9001 guidelines through the use of the Quality Manual and Q-Pulse software.

  • Ability to manage and maintain sensitive and strictly confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the company’s policies & procedures.
  • Ability to operate Computer.
  • Knowledge and training in E2 (operating system) or similar systems.
  • Knowledge and training in various computer programs to include, but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Word, Accounting Software, Q-Pulse and various Website programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as orders, federal and state rules and regulations, and legal documents, etc.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate phone system.

Education and/or other Requirements
  • Experience in Human Resources, payroll procedures and benefit administrator required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and safety requirements as they relate to federal and state agency guidelines.
