We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.You may be expected to work in another clinical area when service needs are required. The shift pattern for this post is 12 hour shifts day/night rotations and weekend working. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our enthusiastic, forward thinking team within Ward 5B Diabetes/Endocrine within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.ResponsibilitiesAs part of this team you will have responsibility for assessment, delivery and supervision of all care needs within the ward environment. You will possess sound clinical skills for the assessment of patient\'s needs, implementation and evaluation of care which are evidence based.You will have the ability to work to high clinical standards in this fast paced environment. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment.A fundamental part of the role is to participate in communications as part of the Multidisciplinary team to enhance the patient journey. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and should be able to work on your own merit supported by the wider nursing team.You should possess excellent communication skills and decision making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development.It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have evidence of continuing professional development.Experience in Diabetes / Endocrine nursing is desirable but not essential.Qualifications and requirementsLive NMC UK pin (necessary to be considered).Registered Nurse with the NMC and evidence of continuing professional development.Informal contactSteven Buchanan, SCN, On 0141 452 2488 or email Steven.buchanan@nhs.scotAdditional informationDetails on how to contact the Recruitment Service and the Recruitment Process: Information for candidates.
