What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll be instrumental in the delivery and implementation of key HR initiatives and own management and improvement of employee relations, engagement, leadership development, talent and performance management, payroll and benefits administration, and broad‑based people strategies for the Canadian region. You will partner directly with the HR corporate team and local leadership teams, and play a pivotal role in enhancing employee experience, retention, and fostering a high‑performance culture aligned with the company’s core values. Day‑To‑Day Responsibilities Act as strategic and trusted advisor to leadership teams, enhancing relationships, guiding performance, and promoting company culture while upholding policies. Collaborate with HR COE’s and other team members to leverage all programs, tools, and technology, driving implementation and proactively influencing business needs. Champion employee engagement, serve as steward for performance management and goal setting, resolve issues, and coach leaders and employees. Manage organizational risk and ensure legal compliance by addressing investigations in collaboration with HR, managers, and legal, handling the highest risk issues directly. Manage compensation planning, promotions in alignment with compliance, pay practices, and learning and development. Facilitate career development programs, ensuring talent pipelines align with growth objectives and team members have clear advancement pathways. Conduct regular workplace audits, stay updated on relevant issues and regulations, and analyze HR‑related data to advise management. Analyze data including turnover reports, headcount summaries, exit interview data, and market data to drive improvement and identify proactive programs. Lead and oversee talent acquisition efforts for assigned business units, partnering closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver effective recruitment strategies. Manage and oversee the payroll and benefits team, ensuring accurate processing, compliance, and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Manage HR generalists to ensure a cohesive, strategic approach to corporate initiatives. Collaborate with business leaders to improve organizational performance and streamline HR operations. Adhere consistently to all organizational policies and core values. Work collaboratively with process owners to plan, transition, and execute processes that simplify, reduce costs, prevent risk, and ensure accurate, timely delivery. Build organizational capability through continuous improvement activities, generate ideas, and implement solutions. Promote and support enterprise‑wide culture and belonging initiatives. Lead change management and integration efforts for a successful employee experience. Identify, track, and report meaningful performance/progress metrics and support the team in achieving goals. Educate managers and employees on HR policies, plans, programs, practices, processes, and tools. Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as required. Must‑Haves Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 7-10 years of progressive HR management or HR director experience. 3-5 years’ experience with a multi‑national Fortune 500 company preferred. Previous managerial/supervisory experience with demonstrable achievements in building talent, process, and system capability. Market awareness: knows key players and talent. Comfortable with ambiguity, always progressing forward. Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations and company policies. Proficient relationship‑building skills, including cross‑functional partnership and influence. Expert analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Learning agility to respond favorably to evolving systems, applications, and processes. Consistent commitment to policies, including attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethics.
