Structural Engineer

Overview Type of position: Regular Your future role on our team By joining our Structural Engineering team, you’ll be required to work with multidisciplinary teams on one or more projects, carrying out consulting engineering tasks such as design studies and preliminary and detailed engineering. You’ll help us prepare engineering documents to design structures for projects in the industrial, mining and metallurgy, energy, petrochemical, environmental, sustainable development and other sectors. Responsibilities Design concrete and steel foundations and structures Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Prepare estimates, technical specifications and reports Help with quality control of the work of technicians and drafters Help prepare estimates, schedules and budgets, where necessary Help plan, organize and assess work Help monitor site work, as required Assist with site inspections and surveys Perform other technical functions to support project delivery Maintain close and harmonious relationships with clients or their representatives Qualities and values Results-driven Thirst to learn and excel Willingness to work together while having fun Sense of equity and inclusion Ability to look beyond established standards Rigorous and ethical Summary of certifications and job requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant equivalent training and experience Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience Knowledge of structural analysis software Available to travel occasionally to client sites and offices Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec Asset: Experience in finite element calculations Asset: Dynamic structural analysis An overview of BBA’s total Awards Annual base salary Annual premium program for regular employees Access to a time bank Onsite mobility premium Cellphone Program Group insurance plan starting day one including short-term and long-term disability insurance for regular employees and telemedicine program Retirement saving plan for regular employees Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary such as, but no limited to: Market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.
