Do what you say.Communication: Able to clearly talk about the details and also zoom out to the bigger pictureRole-specific5+ years of professional (non-internship) experience as a backend engineer, preferably in the data engineering or crypto/finance domain. Experience in crypto is strongly preferred.Have strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems. Deep knowledge of backend technologies, including databases, orchestrators, messaging systems, data pipelines, and more.Write high-quality code, value software testing, and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining production systems, ideally within high-growth or early-stage environments. or drawn to high growth stage startups.Strong fundamentals with a cloud platform like GCP or AWSAble to work effectively in a remote setting and able to overlap with our core hours of 9 AM to 12 PM PT / 12 - 3pm ESTOur engineering process includesCode reviewsContinuous integrationMultiple daily automated deployments to productionAutomated testing with >85% code coverageOur tech stack isWeb: HTML, Typescript, React, React Native, Styled-ComponentsMobile: React Native, Expo, GraphQLBackend: Python, Flask, GraphQL, Postgres, BigTable, Redis, Python RQ, TemporalInfrastructure: GCP, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Docker, Pub/Sub, Datadog, PagerDutyYou don't need to know any or all of these, but be willing to learn
