Teaching Assistant: Equity and Diversity in Education (EDS260H1S)Toronto, ON, CanadaJob DescriptionVictoria College: Education & Society ProgramPosition: Teaching Assistant (1 Position - CUPE 3902, Unit 2)EDS260H1S: Equity and Diversity in EducationThis course focuses on raising awareness and sensitivity to equity and diversity issues facing teachers and students in diverse schools and cultural communities. It builds knowledge of how oppression works and how cultural resources and educational practices may be brought to bear on reducing oppression and improving equity.Hours of work: 85 hoursDates of appointment: January 1, 2026 - April 30, 2026Salary: $47.64 per hour as per CUPE agreementCourse Modality: In-person, Victoria College campusQualifications required:Graduate student in Education (Ph.D. students preferred but Master-level students will be considered). Preference in hiring will be given to graduate students at the University of Toronto.Experience teaching in K-12 or university/college settingsResearch or coursework experience on issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion within an educational contextPassion for learning and teachingMust have excellent time management skillsMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust have high capacity for objective, consistent evaluation of student performanceDescription of duties:The TA will mark student assignments, respond to assignment-related inquiries from students, track student attendance, and monitor participation in classes.Application: You must submit as one PDF file, in order (Cover Letter and CV)Your file must follow this naming convention: Your full name – course code application – date of submission.
