This role partners with clients to meet environmental and regulatory requirements on large projects, including freshwater fish salvage, marine fish and crab salvage, water quality monitoring, marine sediment monitoring, and stream habitat assessments. The work supports mitigation of environmental effects on aquatic systems and contributes to responsible development in British Columbia.Aquatic Field TechnicianTechnical degree or diploma in environmental science or biological sciencesGeneral knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policiesComfortable working in a construction environment in remote locations for 2–3 weeks at a timeMust be a team player with a proactive and open‑minded attitudeAquatic Field Crew LeadMinimum bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, biology, forestry, or a related fieldGeneral knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policiesExperience in the collection of biological and physical field data; experience with aquatics or fisheries programs or construction environmental monitoring is an assetMust be a good communicator, leader, and problem‑solver with a positive attitude and attention to detailComfortable working in a construction environment and directing a small team in remote locations for 2–3 weeks at a timeIntermediate and Senior Aquatic BiologistsMinimum bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, biology, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent education/experience; experience managing construction environmental monitoring is an assetKnowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policiesExperience in some or all of the following: freshwater/fish salvage, marine fish salvage, water quality monitoring, marine sediment monitoring, stream habitat assessment following provincial standardsAdditional InformationThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee, and other duties may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.
