Heavy Equipment Technician - Material Handling Brandt Group of Companies is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician - Material Handling for our Edmonton location. The role involves performing basic and complex diagnostics, service maintenance, and repair work on customer and dealer‑owned equipment efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Perform basic/complex diagnostics and repairs on material handling equipment (forklifts, stackers, electric carts, tow trucks, transporters). Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and necessary repairs on equipment. Accurately record all work done for customer and warranty records. Maintain current product knowledge of equipment specific to industry and location. Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner. Follow all safety rules and regulations and maintain thorough understanding of OH&S systems and standards. Ensure knowledge and compliance of proper procedure for disposal of hazardous waste material. Perform all service tasks assigned by the Material Handling Service Manager or Foreman. Participate in service training programs and maintain skills and knowledge. Maintain and care for department tools, equipment, and vehicles. Mentor and oversee apprentices. Resolve customer issues to their satisfaction on a timely basis. Financial Performance Work within budgets and approvals provided by the Service Manager. Maintain a high level of productivity, efficiency, and gross margin. Maintain a quality of work metric of 98% (% of work completed right the first time). Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Entry‑level mechanical or electrical background preferred. Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and basic repair processes. Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
