Our Heavy Equipment Technicians operate a service truck in western Canada, maintaining rail-related equipment. Petro-Traxx Technicians also support our rental fleet of Rail Car Movers, help maintain our internal fleet of equipment and support our other operation. The job will consist of shop work in Edmonton and service work around Edmonton and western Canada. Technicians are typically back every Friday. Service trucks and tools are new.
**Responsibilities**
- Assess client equipment, determine required service, complete repairs.
- Provide necessary services and inspections to meet provincial and federal regulations.
- Comply with Petro-Traxx and customer specific procedures and safety regulations including site orientations drug and alcohol testing.
- Supervise and mentor any laborer or apprentices.
- Operate and maintain service truck
- Technician to provide basic hand tools and power tools up to ½” drive.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Knowledge of rail industry and equipment would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and diesel engine principles.
- Ability to read schematics and follow guidelines.
- Proficiency in the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Required to be clean shaven on most worksites.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Heavy duty technician certification required.
- Experience with rail-related equipment, locomotives and primarily rail car movers is an asset.
- Class 5 Drivers License with an acceptable abstract.
- Rail Medical Required
- Off highway Journeyman Certification
**Additional Benefits**

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
