Richmond, Canada Ideon Technologies Full time

Senior Talent Generalist (talent acquisition focus) Join to apply for the Senior Talent Generalist (talent acquisition focus) role at Ideon Technologies Founded and based in Richmond, BC, Ideon Technologies uses the energy from supernova explosions in space to image deep beneath the Earth’s surface. The world pioneer in cosmic-ray muon tomography, Ideon has developed the REVEAL™ Subsurface Intelligence Platform™, comprising an advanced suite of proprietary data-generation hardware, software, AI-powered services, and multi-physics fusion that provide x‑ray‑like visibility deep underground and unlock the exponential power of integrated spatial data. By transforming muon data into reliable 3D density maps, Ideon helps geologists identify, map, characterize, and monitor mineral deposits with confidence. This reduces risk and cost of traditional methods, while saving time, optimizing return, and minimizing environmental impact across the mining value chain. In turn, this is helping accelerate the world’s transition to low‑impact mining and transform how companies recover the critical minerals required to power the global shift to clean energy – improving peoples’ lives and enhancing economic prosperity. We are a dynamic tech scale‑up of nearly 70 employees that is entrepreneurial by nature and focused on doing things right to deliver great customer outcomes. And we are committed to seeking the best brains and the most exceptional humans, wherever they come from and however they happen to be packaged. The Role We are seeking a Senior Talent Generalist who will play a pivotal role in supporting the full employee lifecycle. You’ll spend approximately half your time driving talent acquisition, with the remainder dedicated to supporting talent operations, projects, and process improvement. We are looking for someone skilled in talent acquisition, who’s worked on a variety of roles over several years, and can dive into technical recruiting with little ramp up. When you’re not in talent acquisition mode, you’ll be a trusted resource and point of contact for leaders and employees, influencing an approachable, inclusive, and high‑performance culture. You will report to the Principal Talent Partner and work closely in a team setting alongside a Talent Coordinator. The Ideon team is primarily based in the lower mainland of British Columbia, with a few employees in other Canadian provinces and throughout Australia. Recruitment & Onboarding (50%) Collaborate with leaders to manage recruitment and selection for your assigned portfolio, including developing and updating job descriptions, posting positions, reviewing applications, coordinating and scheduling interviews, creating interview guides, leading interviews, debriefing with stakeholders, preparing employment agreements, negotiating and closing offers, and conducting reference and background checks. As Ideon grows, your portfolio will evolve. We envision you starting with a portfolio that includes technical positions such as software, geosciences, research and development, and hardware. You’ll also provide hiring coverage to other talent team members as needed. Partner with hiring leaders to ensure candidates have an authentic, insightful, and efficient experience, delivering high‑quality hires within appropriate timelines and sharing direct feedback with leaders to drive continuous improvement and meet business outcomes. Maintain and optimise the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment processes, including tracking and reporting recruitment metrics. Support onboarding and orientation for new hires to facilitate a smooth transition into the company. Drive the probation review processes with leaders to gather and synthesize feedback on quality of hire. Refine processes and techniques to incorporate feedback as you identify trends and opportunities through the hiring process and candidate surveys. Contribute to refinement of the Ideon Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and messaging to market. Employee Engagement (20%) Administer employee engagement surveys and compile results. Support action planning and engagement initiatives based on results. Facilitate exit interviews and regular check‑ins to gather feedback and drive retention; report out on trends with proposed solutions to address. Champion initiatives that foster a vibrant, inclusive, and values‑driven culture. Support communications and programming around recognition, wellness, and DEI. Provide guidance to employees seeking specific guidance on a range of topics. Performance Management and Leader Coaching (20%) Coach leaders within your assigned portfolio on onboarding effectiveness, performance conversations, probation reviews, performance improvement plans, co‑developing and communicating plans with employees. Recommend leadership development opportunities for high‑potential employees within your portfolio. Ensure that Ideon is compliant with HR‑specific legislation and law. Participate in or lead conflict resolution within the organization. Support or lead employee exits, should they occur. Technology, Records, Metrics, Health & Safety (10%) Maintain HRIS and employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Recommend and support implementation for HR technology solutions to improve efficiency and employee/candidate experience. Productivity tool adoption, process evolution, and continuous improvement for efficiency and impact. Contribute to the culture of health and safety that Ideon is building, by participating in initiatives related to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Success in the role looks like: Hiring targets met. New targets established for future tracking and reporting (i.e. quality of hire, time to productivity, cost per hire). An excellent candidate and employee experience; experience and onboarding surveys established and recurring reported on. Strong recommendations and referrals from employees to other potential hires. Priorities in the first few months will include: Building relationships with leaders in your assigned portfolio (month 1+). Hiring, hiring, hiring (month 1+). Support the talent module HRIS implementation (months 1+). Refresh employer branding in partnership with marketing & communications (month 2+). Qualifications Must‑haves: 8+ years’ experience in an HR role, including significant experience recruiting in a tech environment; you’ve hired a breadth of technical roles, can speak some of the language, and can uncover both technical and non‑technical insights. Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. Experience providing a welcoming corporate onboarding experience. Hands‑on experience working within an HRIS/ATS; experience implementing a system is a bonus. Strong knowledge and application of Canadian employment legislation and law; you know what you know and when a legal professional should be consulted. You’re a good human: values‑driven and authentically you, with a strong sense of integrity and doing the right thing for the right reason. Well‑developed communication skills in English at a fluent or professional level; able to be assertive and respectful. Legally able and currently documented to work full time hours in Canada. Nice‑to‑haves: CPHR designation or in progress. Experience with employee engagement surveys and action planning. Familiarity with HR tech tools and data reporting. Exposure to wellness, DEI, or culture‑building initiatives. Able to research and network for support on complex HR topics. Understanding of Canadian immigration. Familiarity with or ability to learn about HR standards globally.
