Band 7 Epilepsy Nurse Specialist NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Epilepsy Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will lead and manage the Epilepsy team and serve as a specialist resource for patients, general practitioners, nursing colleagues and other health care professionals. They will be responsible for leading and developing the team to meet the requirements of the Epilepsy service. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist evidence‑based input to epilepsy patient groups, carers and other health care professionals. Deliver a nurse‑led service to the population of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to guide the development of services within epilepsy care, providing education and training to others. Provide supervision and assessment for the Epilepsy Service. Case‑manage adult patients offering support, expertise and knowledge within the LD service. Conduct comprehensive assessments, discuss management options, evaluate patients, actively manage care and promote empowerment of patients and carers. Ensure practice is in line with nationally agreed guidelines and monitor and develop written protocols for staff caring for patients with seizures and epilepsy. Clinical assessment and medical prescribing skills are beneficial and advantageous for this senior clinical nurse specialist role. Working Hours Monday to Friday with a caseload of patients.
