Aquatic Leader I Job Number: J0126-0885 Job Type: Auxiliary Date Posted: January 23, 2026 Closing Date: February 11, 2026 Job Category: Recreation Branch/Location Office: Recreation City: Port Moody Province / State: British Columbia Salary Range: $27.63/Hour The City of Port Moody is looking for enthusiastic, energetic individuals to provide swim lesson instruction and lifeguarding, for all age levels at either of our outdoor aquatic facilities, from approximately mid‑June to September 2026. Candidates must be 16 years of age or older to apply. These key positions will work with an aquatic team to provide exceptional guarding and instruction services to the patrons of Port Moody’s outdoor pools. Hours of work include daytime, evening, and weekends with a variety of hours, including split shifts. Current certifications must accompany your resume. All certifications must be current to September 2026. Participation in mandatory pre-season in-service training day on Saturday, June 6, 2026 is required. We are looking for candidates with good availability who are able to commit to scheduled shifts throughout the entire season. Commitment of employment would include working regular shifts throughout the entire season as assigned. Please note that employment with the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police information check. Required Qualifications: Related experience with swimming instruction, life guarding, computer, and cash handling; National Lifeguard Pool Option (current to Sep 2026); Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor (current to Sep 2026); Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED (current Sep 2026); Excellent communication and customer service skills.
