About the Club Established in 1929, the Winnipeg Winter Club is a private, member‑owned athletic and social club that brings families and professionals together through athletics, sport, and social engagement. The Club offers a wide range of programs and services designed to enhance the experience of every member and their family. Position Summary The Director of Membership Services is responsible for driving membership growth, engagement, and retention while ensuring an exceptional member experience from first inquiry through long‑term membership. This role blends strategic sales leadership, marketing and communications, and high‑touch relationship management. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, relationship‑builder, and brand ambassador who understands how to sell a lifestyle, not just a product. Key Responsibilities Membership Sales & Growth Lead all aspects of membership sales, including prospecting, tours, follow‑up, and onboarding. Develop and execute strategies to attract new members aligned with the club’s values and culture. Manage the full membership pipeline, from inquiry to conversion. Meet or exceed annual membership growth and retention targets. Member Experience & Retention Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries related to membership services. Oversee onboarding and orientation for new members to ensure a seamless experience. Develop initiatives to strengthen member engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Work closely with club leadership to address member feedback and opportunities for improvement. Support special events, open houses, and member‑focused initiatives. Oversee the reception desk team and processes. Marketing & Communications Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop membership marketing strategies. Oversee club communications, including digital content, email campaigns, and promotional materials. Ensure consistent brand messaging across all membership touchpoints. Strategy & Leadership Manage the membership CRM, ensuring accuracy in member data and reporting, and a coordinated experience for member online services. Analyze membership data and trends to inform strategy and decision‑making. Prepare regular reports on membership performance, pipeline activity, and retention metrics. Contribute to long‑term membership planning and pricing strategies. Uphold and promote the club’s standards, values, and culture in all interactions. Other – Program Coordination Coordinate programs and events as assigned. Coordinate other revenue‑driven activities for the Club. Member hockey – book ice, book times, book goals, communicate to players. Contract ice – coordinate external bookings and contracts. Group events – when we have events of 100 kids, coordinating what lessons each group has at different times. Or a party that will use several departments but needs a central coordinator to ensure a smooth booking experience. Qualifications & Experience Post‑secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in membership sales, client services, hospitality, private clubs, or a relationship‑driven sales environment. Proven ability to build trust, close sales, and maintain long‑term relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with CRM systems and membership management platforms is an asset. Professional, polished, and service‑oriented approach.
