This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Edmonton CCA PDC - Plant on a full-time basis.The RoleThe Edmonton Parts Distribution Centre is looking for a responsible, hardworking, and outgoing Student Supervisor for a medium sized group of hourly employees for our warehouse operation You will be responsible for timely shipment and/or receipt of parts by efficient utilization of labour and equipment. The selected candidate will provide mentorship and support for all warehouse staff.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintains safety and good housekeeping practicesMaintains records to track and improve departmental performanceActive involvement in the operation of the warehouseAssist with planning and scheduling of departmental staffAssist with training, staff meetings, and supervising staff with guidance of the General SupervisorMaintain awareness of quality standards, communicate departmental quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality issuesEmpower and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs applying standardized methodsDevelop and revise work instructions as requiredWillingness to work straight afternoon shift and/or 2 weeks rotationRequired QualificationsPursuit of a Bachelor's (2nd, 3rd and 4th year students) degree in one of the following areas: Business, Operations, EngineeringAble to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 8-month term (2 consecutive semesters) starting January 2025High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work outputStrong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skillsDemonstrates strong leadership and written/verbal communication skillsHighly adaptable with the ability to work independently and in a team environmentFundamental digital literacy including proven understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointYOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN A CO-OP OR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AND MEET THE PROGRAM’S ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Previous supervisory, or team leading experiencePrevious warehousing experienceProject management experiencePLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU DO NOT NEED SPONSORSHIP TO WORK IN CANADA NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
