The team promotes professional growth and opportunities to contribute to transformative projects in student services.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Academic Governance and Planning Systems, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team delivering transformational technology solutions in the areas of degree auditing, curriculum governance, management and publication, and business processes for degree, program and course offerings. You will help improve curricular management and student systems for students, staff, faculty and course instructors.As a senior information systems analyst, you will support, improve, and implement enterprise student and curricular systems. You will work in cross-functional teams with developers, analysts and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile processes. You will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and end-user training and support. You will coordinate project components to improve processes for effective and efficient service management. You will collaborate with product development teams and stakeholders to implement new products or procedures as opportunities for modernization arise. You will work with business stakeholders and end-users on business process mapping, workflows and redesign to identify, develop or implement appropriate technical solutions.Your responsibilities will include:Liaising with technical specialists to resolve end-user issuesPlanning the implementation of new business systems and business processesReconciling business requirements with information architecture needs for highly complex system integrationCo-ordinating support and training activitiesEnsuring user documentation and training plans are in place for new applications and functionalityPlanning and implementing components of IT related projectsDeveloping project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reportingEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five years applying business analysis practices, preferably in Information Technology or in support of Teaching and Learning within a post-secondary educational institutionMinimum five years working with or supporting enterprise-level course or curriculum applications (e.g. course management, course delivery, curriculum management, syllabi management, timetable management).Minimum three years working as a business analyst on Information technology projects performing requirements gathering, analysis and testingExperience coordinating projects with a range of stakeholders; ability to identify dependencies, risk and prioritiesExperience in system/service deployment and supportExperience developing and delivering training on information systems and processes to a variety of audiences and in a variety of formatsExperience writing and disseminating technical or procedural specifications and client facing documentationExperience with project and issue tracking software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)Experience creating operational roadmapsFamiliarity with University academic and IT policies; familiarity with related legislationAbility to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts; ability to identify up and downstream dependencies and risksAbility to use business analysis practices and tools (e.g. MS Visio, LucidChart, PowerBI, MS Excel Pivot tables)Demonstrated superior client service skillsAbility to communicate in a variety of styles and voices for a range of audiencesAbility to build and maintain close working relationships with all levels of staff and internal and external stakeholdersEffective and strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable documenting, speaking to, and making presentations on system features, technical changes, complex concepts and proceduresStrong organizational and time management skillsAssets (Nonessential):Experience with Microsoft SharePointExperience with Service Now or other service support and ticketing applicationsExperience with Agile development practices (e.g. Scrum and Kanban)Experience with testing protocols and proceduresExperience working with data, including writing and executing queries and procedures in SQL, report formatting and creation, and record creationUnderstanding of the evolving nature of higher educationTo be successful in this role you will be:CommunicatorEfficientOrganizedProactiveProblem solverResilientPlease note this is a replacement position.A copy of the detailed position description is available to USW employees upon request to the Operations and Real Estate Partnerships Office.Closing Date: 02/02/2026, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - ContinuingSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 16 -- $103,367. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $132,188.
