Overview Transdev Canada is hiring a Manager- Payroll & Benefits in our Calgary corporate office. As part of the Human Resources function, the Manager, Payroll & Benefits is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and benefits services across Transdev Canada Western operations and corporate employees (approximately 2,000 employees). Transdev Canada uses ADP Workforce Now as its payroll and HRIS platform. Your role Act as a trusted advisor and partner to Transdev operational leaders, forge trusting relationships with General managers and other stakeholders. Oversee the end-to-end payroll and benefits function, including bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles, benefits administration, system governance (ADP Workforce Now), internal controls, reconciliations, audits, and year-end activities, ensuring full compliance with federal and provincial legislation and statutory reporting requirements. Lead, coach, and manage a team of payroll and benefits professionals, setting clear expectations and ensuring accountability, accuracy, and service excellence. Act as a trusted advisor to HR, Finance, Operations, and leaders on payroll, benefits, collective agreements, and complex employee pay matters. Collaborate with the third-party provider to ensure seamless payroll processing of Transdev Canada West (approximately 2,000 employees) and corporate employees, including accurate calculation of wages, taxes, deductions, and benefits contributions. Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant employment laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, ensuring all payroll and benefits practices adhere to these standards. Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and other benefits offerings. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll data to internal stakeholders, executive leaders, and external agencies as required. Manage and resolve payroll and benefits escalations and discrepancies with sound judgment, professionalism, and timely follow-through. Collaborate with Finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of payroll data, including payroll deductions and tax claims. Assist in the preparation of annual budgetary projections for payroll and benefits expenses, as well as the annual total compensation review campaign. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, strengthen controls, and enhance the employee experience. Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and data integrity, supporting the updating of employee information. Ensure compliance with end of employment milestones, including electronic transmission of employment records. Demonstrated experience working with ADP Workforce Now. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or human resources or other related field. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to handle confidential information. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. A member of the Canadian Payroll Association, an asset. Your location This is an in office position located in Calgary, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
