General Accountability Reporting to the Manager, Legal Support Services, the Tax Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting a Partner with all aspects of their busy practice including managing client and file information, establishing and maintaining organizational systems to manage paper-flow; client contact; drafting and filing documents; billing; and other administrative tasks as assigned. Primary Responsibilities Daily correspondence, document preparation. File preparation and management. Preparation of CRA authorizations. Time entry, billings, and client collections. Maintain BF system. Communicate with the tax court registry. Preparation of CRA and tax court forms. Filing documents with the CRA and tax court. Direct client contact. Other general and administrative tasks as required. Qualifications Minimum two years of experience. Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office. Strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively manage a high volume of work, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Meticulously detail oriented - excellent spelling, grammar, and proof-reading skills. Strong service orientation. Ability to take initiative and think ahead. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High energy team player, positive and willing attitude. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Ability to comfortably adapt to changing environments. Flexibility to work occasional overtime. Keyboarding of at least 60 w.p.m. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program. Compensation + Benefits The typical salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal and market equity.
