Manager, Specialty Leasing I The Manager, Specialty Leasing I is accountable to the General Manager I for increasing and diversifying the property’s revenue streams by temporary leasing of the shopping centre’s common areas, parking lot, vacant retail units, sponsorship, mall media, pop‑up retail, storage space, etc., while maintaining the established image of the property as a high‑quality retail facility. Purpose The Manager, Specialty Leasing I is accountable to General Manager I for increasing and diversifying property’s revenue streams by temporary leasing of the shopping centre’s common areas, parking lot, vacant retail units, sponsorship, mall media, pop‑up retail, storage space etc. while maintaining the established image of the property as a high‑quality retail facility. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement a Specialty Leasing Business Plan and Temporary Leasing Program to increase and diversify revenue streams at the property. Identify optimal tenant mix and potential temporary‑to‑permanent conversion prospects. Prospect temporary leasing opportunities (cold calling, online prospecting, local travel). Prepare, negotiate, and execute binding lease agreements. Maintain the specialty leasing database, collect rent, coordinate move‑in, set‑up, and move‑out; monitor tenant operations and adherence to lease provisions. Explore and develop new revenue streams through industry networking and professional development. Ensure compliance with all aspects of the program. Upgrade and monitor tenancies and visual presentations; develop display standards. Collaborate with Operations for building information and compliance. Ensure temporary tenants adhere to design and signage criteria. Collaborate with the General Manager and National Director to develop an annual revenue and expense budget. Analyze financial reports, monitor collections, ensure reconciliation, and oversee financial performance. Network within the real‑estate industry to maintain up‑to‑date market knowledge, monitor competitors, develop relationships with local entrepreneurs and industry partners, and represent the centre in the community. Coordinate with Marketing to identify and capitalize on sponsorship revenue opportunities. Develop fulfillment reports for sponsors. Produce content for national B2B social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) to promote the leasing programme and generate leads. Perform any other duties or projects assigned. Minimum Requirements Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Computer literate – working knowledge of MS Office, Internet, Social Media. Basic record‑keeping skills. Core Competencies Strong networking and business development skills. Communication skills – verbal and written. Ability to work independently. Negotiating skills. Presentation skills. Additional Requirements Provincial Real Estate License required. Local travel – must have a valid driver’s license. Previous Specialty Leasing experience at a retail centre or deal‑making experience with assets. Knowledge of Canva and Yardi is an asset.
