Our team of 700+ staff see clients virtually and physically from our downtown Toronto and Oakville clinics.
The Role:Medcan Health Management is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician/ Internist to join our expanding medical staff of over 80 physicians. With unprecedented demand for comprehensive care services, we are seeking patient-focused physicians with excellent communication skills and clinical knowledge to meet the needs of the growing population of individuals seeking an internal medicine specialist.
You will take on a relatively small number of patients giving you the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while you enjoy market-leading compensation and incentives and the time you deserve – professionally and personally – to balance work and life.
This is a part-time position that is scheduled for 1-2 days per month in-clinic Monday through Friday depending on availability.
Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York Street (York and Adelaide) which is nearby St Andrew station or a 10 minute walk from Union Station.
What You'll Do:- Perform comprehensive internal medicine consultations for patients referred by Medcan physicians.
- Based on history and physical examination provide clinical guidance and recommendations.
- Evaluate the patient’s health, make diagnoses on clinical conditions, prescribe, and administer medications and treatments.
- Educate, advise, and empower patients on primary and secondary preventive health care.
- Provide counseling and support to patients on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
- Participate in Medcan business initiatives including continuing medical education, innovation, research, product development, support, and guidance.
- Board eligible or Board certified in Internal Medicine.
- Commit to working at Medcan for a minimum of two 2 days per month.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- An active OHIP billing number.
- CCFP designation, CCFP (EM) designation, or FRCPC designation.
- Physicians who recently completed their residency will be considered.
- Experience in preventive care and wellness is an asset.
- Ability to respectfully and tactfully interact and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds in a collegial, empathetic manner.
