Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeCA$85,000.00/yr - CA$100,000.00/yrDirect message the job poster from WildBrain StudiosWildBrain is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our teamIn this role, you will report to the Controller, WildBrain Studios, and will be responsible for overseeing audit preparation, managing production company year-end compilations, and supporting the delivery of accurate financial information across the organization.As part of our Content Creation business unit, you will support and collaborate with stakeholders across WildBrain’s Vancouver Studio, House of Cool in Toronto, and WildBrain’s Digital Studio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, creative environment and is eager to contribute to the financial success of a global animation leader.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat you’ll do:Operate with a high level of independence while keeping senior management informed of progress, emerging issues, and potential risksLead the preparation and coordination of auditor requests, including:CRA audits (primarily for tax credits and GST)Prepare comprehensive year-end financial packages for external accounting firms in support of T2 filings for WildBrain’s various production companiesPrepare package for the statutory audit of the UK Production Company performed by external auditorsSupport month-end and quarter-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingAct as a key liaison with WildBrain’s internal tax teamCross-train to serve as a back-up for vacation coverage for other accounting team functionsWhat you’ll bring:CPA designation with strong technical accounting expertise is requiredExperience at a large public accounting firm, including preparation of compilation engagements for T2 filingsHands-on experience responding to auditors or working directly in auditExceptional attention to detail, organizational strength, and the ability to take initiative, prioritize workloads, and adapt quickly within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindset; able to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholdersAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools)Nice to have:Familiarity with Movie Magic / Smart Accounting considered a strong assetProficiency with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Great Plains preferredWhy WildBrainPay Range: $85,000 to $100,000 CAD annually based on a 40-hour work week. Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role.
