Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, External Affairs will be at the forefront of public policy change in financial services; they will be an influencer, a strategist, and the embodiment of Fintechs Canada’s ethos. They will direct high-stakes conversations, and the alliances they forge will revolutionize the financial services industry. The Manager, External Affairs’ specific responsibilities include:

Stakeholder engagement: Establishing and nurturing relationships with key government officials and industry stakeholders, advocating for the advancement of fintech and influencing public policy. The Manager, External Affairs will be a voice that stakeholders trust, respect, and act upon.
Events and education: orchestrating events and other programs that don’t just inform—they inspire and influence, building a vibrant, diverse and engaged community of stakeholders for change.
Strategic direction: advising on, designing, and implementing rigorous strategies that achieve organizational objectives, ensuring that Fintechs Canada remains a connected and driving force in the industry.

As the ideal candidate, you have a demonstrated track record of relevant experience. You have an entrepreneurial spirit that will empower you to thrive in a start-up environment, and the drive to produce impeccable work, even if it means going the extra mile. A community-builder at heart, nurturing and strengthening relationships is second nature to you. When faced with challenges, your natural response is to push through with determination and tenacity. You’re eager to take initiative and own your responsibilities with confidence, intrinsically motivated to excel and make an impact.
