Your role As Director, Business Development, you will be a central driver of Avatek’s growth. Your role is strongly focused on market development: opening doors, identifying new direct sales and partnership opportunities, and closing deals that will have a tangible impact on the future of our company. We are looking for a leader with strong commercial drive, capable of executing an intensive, consistent, and strategic outreach approach. You will play a dual role: Direct Sales – you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities by actively identifying, targeting, and engaging potential customers. Partner Activation & Support – you will play a key role in identifying, developing, and activating a network of strategic partners. You will report directly to leadership and work closely with internal teams to ensure strong alignment between Avatek’s value proposition and market needs. This role is ideal for a proactive, persistent, and results‑driven individual who can turn opportunities into long‑term commercial success. Your responsibilities Active Business Development Develop and execute an effective hunter‑style strategy to penetrate new markets (cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, networking, events). Identify, qualify, and convert prospects into strong business opportunities. Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and closing. Maintain consistent follow‑ups to advance opportunities through the decision‑making process. Direct Sales Representation & Strategy Develop a deep understanding of prospective customers’ operational challenges and translate them into concrete solutions. Clearly articulate the value of the Avatek™ platform to diverse stakeholders (logistics, clinical leadership, finance, IT). Represent Avatek across Canadian and U.S. markets to increase brand visibility. Continuously refine sales approaches, messaging, and positioning based on market feedback. Partner Reseller Activation & Support Prospect and recruit new reseller partners by identifying key market players capable of expanding Avatek’s commercial reach. Assess partner potential and strategic fit to prioritize high‑impact collaborations. Onboard new partners through structured integration, including product knowledge, positioning, processes, and tools. Develop structured collaboration models (cadence meetings, shared goals, quarterly plans, engagement frameworks) to maximize joint success. Provide ongoing, proactive partner support, including performance tracking, opportunity follow‑ups, issue resolution, and enablement. Team & Collaboration Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution across implementation, operations, marketing, and product. Contribute to a culture of transparency, commercial discipline, and continuous improvement. Share customer feedback to help shape product evolution and internal processes. Your profile 8+ years of B2B sales experience, including significant hands‑on prospecting. Strong commercial energy with a passion for intensive and consistent outbound efforts. Results‑oriented mindset and comfort operating in a build‑from‑scratch, territory‑development role. Experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment; you understand the need for agility, creativity, and persistence to achieve results. A direct, customer‑focused business approach combined with a strong intrapreneurial mindset taking initiative, innovating, and actively contributing to company growth. Strong understanding of complex operational environments such as healthcare and supply chain. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English (French is an asset). Highly autonomous, resilient, disciplined, and comfortable in fast‑changing environments. Willing and able to travel within the United States and Canada. Your qualifications Experience in healthcare and/or supply chain sectors (strong asset). Proven hunter profile: market entry, territory development, and pipeline generation. Demonstrated success in direct sales and partner management, with the ability to build strong client relationships. Strong capabilities managing long or multi‑department sales cycles. Native English proficiency; bilingual French is an asset. Strong organizational skills in pipeline management and follow‑up execution.
